Vusi has been CEO of Lefika Securities from inception and the stockbroker in charge of the firm. He started his career as a teacher in Tshwane where he was born and bred, which later ignited the Lefika Rock Foundation.
He pursued career in management- consulting firm for a few years prior to forming Lefika Securities. This is where he was involved in corporate advisory work. It is with this experience that he briefly worked with a stockbroking firm where he was charged with setting up an institutional trading desk. Vusi now continues to rejuvenate the landscape of stockbroking through the innovations of Lefika
Tony Pritchett has been an Institutional equity dealer and sales trader since joining the market in 1990. He started trading on the old stock exchange. He was one of the first traders to test and trade on the new electronic trading JSE System. He has headed up trading desks at Private, Banking Institution and Listed Broking firms since 1996.
Additionally, he has also worked for an International player where he gained experience in how the international players operate in the local market. He has established himself as one of the forerunners in the listed property sector due to his expertise and diverse knowledge of this market. Over the years he has gained valuable experience in transition and basket trading. Tony was instrumental in the transformation of a previously white owned firm, into a leading BEE firm where he spent 7 years as head of the desk. Tony joined Lefika Securities in September of 2015 and brings with him this wealth of knowledge and expertise.
Zanele is an admitted Attorney, she completed her LLB degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2012. She has worked at a prestigious law firm, specializing across various fields of law and moved to the corporate world as a legal advisor. She has goals of pursuing a career in compliance and corporate governance.
Invited to join Lefika Securities with a brief to establish and develop a Fixed Income Trading Department. He designed, developed, programmed and implemented all relevant research, analysis and pricing systems. During this time he has created a significant presence in the bond and money markets, maintaining hands-on involvement with economic and strategic research.
Winch has built up and maintains a reputation for skills as a successful trader and for accurately anticipating market movements. Furthermore, he enjoys the confidence and respect of colleagues, institutional decision-makers and the media for market knowledge, professionalism, personal and business integrity. He suggests and drives research products, provides executive support for the research team during presentations to decision-makers of financial institutions, pension funds, potential and existing clients. On an industry level, Winch was elected to the Committee of the South African Bond Traders Association for 2004/2005.
Nthusi started her career as a sales consultant at Capitec bank which lasted for 2 years. She joined Lefika Securities in November 2014 as a trainee bond trader and has since completed her JSE Registered Persons Exams. Nthusi obtained her Bcom Accounting degree at the University of Free State and is a Golden key honorary society member. She is an enthusiastic, ambitious and a goal driven young lady, who always takes it upon herself to expose herself to different environments that help her grow in the business environment.
Lucy has over 20 years’ experience in the investment research field. She has a B.Com Investment Management degree and is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute.
Over the years she has fulfilled various roles including that of founder and director of the first independent research house in the country. Here she was also the head of research and manager in the specialist Valuation and Strategy team in the field of corporate finance. She joined Lefika Securities in 2011 with a focus on representing Quest in South Africa.
Lorato joined the firm as an Equities trader in 2016 and currently undergoing training as a sales trader. Lorato has 3 years of financial services experience covering investment analysis, equity trading, equity settlement and trust services. She has completed all the necessary JSE exams relevant to her role and holds a BTECH Degree in Economic Management Analysis from the Tshwane University of Technology.
Neil started his investment career in 1990, before starting his journey in fund management. He then embarked further in his journey where he garnered experience in a Director position in 2004. His entrepreneurial spirit kicked in when he started an investment company in 2010 as CEO concentrating on the private client market until joining Lefika Securities in January 2015. Neil is now Head of Investment Sales concentrating his time on marketing Lefika’s research product called Quest.
Brenda is a Equity Trader at Lefika Securities. She holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and currently completing SAIFM Registered Persons Exams. She started her career in 2012 as a Graduate Intern in the Airline industry where she became a Currency Dealer at the end of the graduate internship contract. As a student, Brenda held leadership roles in the Black Management Forum student chapter where she started as an Economic and Gender Officer, Secretary and Deputy Chairperson respectively.
Roy’s career in financial markets began in 2006, where he started out as a back office clerk. After quickly gaining insight into the behind the scenes functioning of a stock broking firm, he moved onto the trading desk at Lefika Securities. He has over 10 years trading experience, focusing on all aspects of trade related execution. He has a keen interest in technical analysis and also trading.
Mirriam has been with us for the past 4 years; within these years, she has completed the End User computer literacy course. Her involvement in the company has brought diversity into the company, adding a wealth of wisdom and culture.
