Vusi has been CEO of Lefika Securities from inception and the stockbroker in charge of the firm. He started his career as a teacher in Tshwane where he was born and bred, which later ignited the Lefika Rock Foundation.
He pursued career in management- consulting firm for a few years prior to forming Lefika Securities. This is where he was involved in corporate advisory work. It is with this experience that he briefly worked with a stockbroking firm where he was charged with setting up an institutional trading desk. Vusi now continues to rejuvenate the landscape of stockbroking through the innovations of Lefika
Securities.
Tony Pritchett has been an Institutional equity dealer and sales trader since joining the market in 1990. He started trading on the old stock exchange. He was one of the first traders to test and trade on the new electronic trading JSE System. He has headed up trading desks at Private, Banking Institution and Listed Broking firms since 1996.
Additionally, he has also worked for an International player where he gained experience in how the international players operate in the local market. He has established himself as one of the forerunners in the listed property sector due to his expertise and diverse knowledge of this market. Over the years he has gained valuable experience in transition and basket trading. Tony was instrumental in the transformation of a previously white owned firm, into a leading BEE firm where he spent 7 years as head of the desk. Tony joined Lefika Securities in September of 2015 and brings with him this wealth of knowledge and expertise.
Invited to join Lefika Securities with a brief to establish and develop a Fixed Income Trading Department. He designed, developed, programmed and implemented all relevant research, analysis and pricing systems. During this time he has created a significant presence in the bond and money markets, maintaining hands-on involvement with economic and strategic research.
Winch has built up and maintains a reputation for skills as a successful trader and for accurately anticipating market movements. Furthermore, he enjoys the confidence and respect of colleagues, institutional decision-makers and the media for market knowledge, professionalism, personal and business integrity. He suggests and drives research products, provides executive support for the research team during presentations to decision-makers of financial institutions, pension funds, potential and existing clients. On an industry level, Winch was elected to the Committee of the South African Bond Traders Association for 2004/2005.
Mitch is a BCom economics and finance graduate from the University of Cape Town. She joined Lefika Securities in October 2022 working on the desk as a Fixed income trader. Mitch boasts relevant financial modelling and data analysis skills. She has also shown interest in laying a foundation of investment analysis by studying towards the CFA accreditation.
When she is not practicing the art of investments, Mitch enjoys learning and reading about other cultures, languages, and art.
Lorato joined the firm in 2016 as an Equity trader and was later promoted to a position of an Equity Sales trader. Lorato joined financial market industry in 2013 and over the years has fulfilled various roles including investment analysis, equity trading, equity settlement and trust services. She has completed all the necessary JSE exams relevant to her role and holds a B. Com Honours in Economics.
Sheila started her career in 2012 as an equity trader. Sheila has been in the market for 9 Years and has gained extensive experience in the financial markets industry. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Business Management from Regenesys Business School and has completed the necessary RPE’s which includes (Bonds, Derivatives, and Equities). Sheila joined Lefika Securities as a senior trader recently and she is involved in broader spectrum of execution.
Ithuteng is a Compliance Officer at Lefika securities. Holds Internal Auditing Degree, Post Graduate diploma in compliance management and Business risk management certificate. Has 5 years experience in compliance. Completed equities compliance officer exam and currently completing SAIFM Registered person exams. She is an enthusiastic and eager to learn, Passionate on delivering excellent service.
Mirriam has been with us for the past 4 years; within these years, she has completed the End User computer literacy course. Her involvement in the company has brought diversity into the company, adding a wealth of wisdom and culture.
Palesa started as a leader in a Youth Leadership Development Programme which was established to equip the youth of SOWETO with sustainable skills and knowledge for personal growth in leadership, sports, arts and culture. She joined Lefika Securities in 2018 as an office attendant. Her core responsibility is the execution of office duties, acknowledging visitors, providing relevant and accurate information when needed and has excellent multi-tasking capabilities. She continues to equip herself with more skills in the industry.
